Choosing Custom Workwear for Your Bristol Business

Workwear has to survive the job before it does anything for your brand. A practical guide to picking garments, decoration and sizing for a team.

Start with the job, then pick the garment

A cafe, an auto shop and a service team wear the same logo on very different clothing. Think about what the day actually involves: heat, washing frequency, whether people are outdoors, whether there are pockets and tools to carry. Let that choose the garment. A polo that gets washed every shift is a different specification from a jacket worn twice a week.

Embroidery or print, and why it matters

Embroidery suits polos, jackets and caps: it survives repeated washing and it reads as finished rather than printed on. Screen and digital print sit better on tees and lighter fabric, and handle detailed or multi-colour artwork that would be expensive to stitch. If any of the team works near traffic or in low light, reflective print is worth asking about specifically.

Sizing across a team is the part people underestimate

Ordering for a group is not the same as ordering for yourself. Ranges differ between garment types, fits differ between people, and the person who never wears the uniform is usually the one whose size was guessed. Because everything is cut and sewn to request, sizing can be set to your spec rather than pulled from a stock range, but only if you collect it properly before the run starts.

Branding does not stop at the logo

Custom neck labels, tag cards and packaging are what make a uniform feel like your own kit rather than a blank with a logo added. It costs little at the point of ordering and it is the difference customers notice when staff clothing looks deliberate.

Start small, then reorder

Minimum order quantities are low, so there is no need to commit a year of stock to find out whether a fabric works for your team. Order a test sample, put it through a few real shifts and a few washes, then scale the run once you know it holds up. Reorders run against the same spec, so the second batch matches the first.
